Manager Eddie Howe was full of praise for his players following the 2-1 win at Dean Court, being quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying: "It gives me immense pleasure and immense pride with the players. I thought it was a really good game, I thought the conditions really helped with the wet surface and QPR are a top side, so to beat them and beat them fair and square in my opinion is a huge achievement. I thought the players showed huge character to come back from conceding the goal so early in the second half. It would have been easy to let that affect our performance. The pleasing thing is we recovered very well, we scored an early goal and at that stage looked ok. And then of course the sending off happened and you think that could be a big turning point but from that moment on the lads defended superbly, really did do well defensively in terms of our structure and not giving gaps in between our units. We saw the game out relatively comfortably until the end with the header form the corner".
