In speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, ex-Cherry Fred Davies, speaks his sides run of 7-straight wins which helped them to promotion: "We managed seven wins at the start of the season and it's going to be harder for Kevin and his team because the pressure is on. If they do it, it would be more of an achievement now than it was then. They have got some very good players and Kevin has certainly got them playing with a lot of freedom. They are playing without fear and that is down to the manager. I was as pleased as punch for them at Walsall because Kevin's tactics were spot on. It was an excellent all-round team performance and a thoroughly deserved win. Tommy Mooney has done a really good job for Walsall this season and that was the most ineffective I have seen him. Everybody in the Bournemouth team did his job and I was delighted for Kevin".
