Rotherham United Back In For Tubbs!

With the transfer deadline looming, it'll come as no surprise that Steve Evans, now at Rotherham United, is (once again) trying to prize the Cherries record signing, Matt Tubbs to re-sign for him, albeit on loan, having managed him at Crawley Town.

Once agsin though, Cherries Chairman, Eddie Mitchell, has rebuked any charm offensive by saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo that: "There has been interest from Rotherham but, at this moment in time, he is with us and we want him with us".

Manager Paul Groves has insisted that Tubbs is part of his plans at Dean Court in saying that: "They have persistently tried to get us to release Matt whether it be buying or loaning him. I don’t see the sense in relinquishing one of our strikers and taking us down to the bare minimum. There are a number of players who haven’t played loads of times. We are trying to play a certain way and trying to set a philosophy in terms of retention of the ball. We are trying to get a settled group of players and get a bit of understanding with the partnerships".
