Speaking on BBC Radio Solent after the match, Josh Gowling is quoted was quoted as saying: "I'm elated, we're eight points away from the drop zone now. I never thought we would go down anyway but obviously it was close at one point. It's not over yet but the lads are just excited to be honest. I've played with Coops before and I live with him anyway so we have a good understanding. Coops is a great person, it's a bit of a shame he went off in the end with his hamstring but Wils [Marc Wilson] came in and did a good job as well. Youngy pulled out this morning, he had a chest infection. So we didn't have any centre-half's and we needed somebody to slot in there. It's great that Coops could just slot in there and be so comfortable, he had a great game today. It was last-chance saloon for them, they are rock bottom now so we knew they were just trying to pummel us all game but we were resilient, we stuck in there and we got the three points. We hung in there, rode it out and just went on from strength to strength. They had a bit of a spell in the second half, they came straight out at us. We knew it was going to be difficult but we stuck in there".
