The 18-year old youth team midefielder has already been involved with the first team over the Christmas and New Year break acting as cover for the beleagured first team squad.

Joe Roach, the youth team coach, is quoted on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "He's been skipper of the youth team for some time and has been a consistent midfield performer. He's worked extremely hard this season and scored half a dozen goals from midfield. His attitude is first class, he's professional in everything he does and possesses a good range of passing. There was a concern last year that he was playing as a sitting midfield player and that we already had a number of those players in the first team. He's worked hard to develop different attributes to his game and it's been hugely effective for him. He has impressed Rob Newman in the games he's viewed. He travelled to Scunthorpe with the team and has been in and around the first team environment this Christmas and hopefully that will become more involved throughout this year while he continues his education. I'm delighted to have another player promoted to the squad list and I think there are others who have the potential to do the same. We've now got five players (Allen, Coutts, Pitman, Sainsbury, Vokes) around the first team at the same time so that's a real selling point for our youth set-up."
