Savi On Howe's Appointment

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Savi is quoted as saying: "There is no question that Eddie is the most suitable guy to take charge with immediate effect. With the blend of experience provided by Joe Roach and Eddie wishing to retain Jason, we believe he is the right person going forward and have no reason to think he will fail. We brought him back to the club having gone through a very difficult period and he's done an exceptional job in a short space of time within the Centre of Excellence. But he has experience at all levels and we firmly believe Eddie is the man to take us forward. You can never say never though and, in this business, there is a lot of adversity that Eddie has to overcome. In our position, we still have to keep an open mind as to what may or may not happen, as we have seen from the past few months. Kevin came in from a previous administration and was dealt a very harsh hand. However, at that point, we felt it was necessary to relieve him of his post. Jimmy had a much longer run under us and we hoped his appointment, given his background and qualities, would have been successful. That wasn't the case and we couldn't sit on the fence and pray it might work. We had to make a change. Therefore, in the same way one appointment hasn't worked out and although we believe in Eddie and his team, we always have to retain an open mind".
