With AFCB battling against the drop, manager Sean O'Driscoll was pleased with the performance, being quoted on BBCi after the match as saying: "Scunthorpe took a chance and stuck three up front against our three - it's difficult to know how to react. If you've got three points, you think 'Do I try to keep them, or do I gamble?' - if we had a few more points I might gamble, but we haven't. We cleared a couple off the line - and all in all, it was a fair result".

For Scunthorpe United, their manager, Brian Laws, was quoted on BBCi after the match as saying: "We're disappointed not to take all three points, but it was a good point for us as Bournemouth are a very good side. We got the penalty early on, but our frustration came out in the first half as we ended up chasing around because we couldn't hold on to the ball. But we tightened up in the second half, and when we pushed three up front, suddenly it changed the game".
