Howe moved to Fratton Park in March 2002 for £400k, made two appearances before devasting injuries have kept him out of action until being loaned out to Swindon at the back end of last season. He has also come through recent pre-season matches for Portsmouth unscathed and is keen to return to full match futness before fighting for a place in the Portsmouth squad.

It is expected that he'll start the League One opener for the Cherries against Hull this weekend.
