Manager Eddie Howe was quoted on BBC Radio Solent after the match as saying: "We are hugely disappointed. The game had a bit of everything. We started slowly and conceded two poor goals from our perspective, but the lads battled back well. At 2-2, you think ‘We are on the front foot, the crowd are with us and they are down to ten men. We are going to go on and win the game’. But there were a couple of key moments that went against us, with Yann’s free-kick, which somehow didn’t go in, and other other little bits and pieces. We were chasing the game in the end and became too stretched. That moment (Kirkland’s save) proved to be game defining and match turning, but, similar to Yeovil, we weren’t quite at our best".
