Manager Eddie Howe was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I have spoken to all the players concerned and the situation has been explained to them. I am awaiting confirmation of my budget for next season before deciding whether I am in a position to offer new contracts and the terms of those contracts. Each individual player has to be judged on his merits and I am hoping to speak to them all again in the next couple of weeks. There is always the worry that players will look to other clubs when their contracts are coming up for renewal. But I am hoping the players enjoyed the climax to the season and will be eager to remain part of the club's future, if we are in a position to keep them on".

Two players, whose contracts were due to run out during the Closed Season will be remaining for the 2009/10 season having excerised options in their existing contracts to remain.

Lee Bradbury will be around next season having reached a certain number of appearances, triggering a particular clause in his contract. Sammy Igoe will be around next season too, having exercised a clause in his contract to do so. It is understood that Shaun Cooper has a similar 12-month extension clause as Igoe.
