Southend Reaction

Speaking after a late Jamie Hayter equaliser, manager Sean O'Driscoll was quoted on BBCi as saying: "At times we thought we wouldn't get back into it. You can see why Southend are clear at the top of the league, but taking all that into consideration, we did okay. Steven Foley had to come off injured at half-time, but we also changed it tactically to solve the problems they'd given us, and showed great resilience".

For Southend United, their manager, Steve Tilson, was disappointed with the result, being quoted afterwards as saying: "The lads are really disappointed to give a goal away in the last 10 minutes, as I felt we were in control of the game ..... I think we'd have been happy with a point at the start. We knew Bournemouth were a good footballing side, but they never really hurt us until they scored. We've got six games to go, and I think we need three more wins for promotion".
