Having helped save AFC Bournemouth from dropping in to the Conference, and some spectacular goals this season, Cherries striker, Brett Pitman has been nominated for the Jersey Sports Personality of the Year.
Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Pitman is quoted as saying: "I’m delighted to have been nominated and it came out of the blue. It’s quite flattering that people on Jersey take an interest in how I’m doing at Bournemouth. Although the Channel Islands are fairly small, people are keen, passionate and very knowledgeable about their respective sports. I certainly wouldn’t have been given my chance in the pro game without the help of a lot of people back home and will always be grateful for their support".
