With the transfer window due to open in just over 5 weeks time, speculation is linking Steve Cook with a move away from Dean Court, having impressed in the early part of this season in the Championship.

Cook's consistency has reportedly brought interest from the likes of Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

Speaking about the speculation, manager Eddie Howe is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "Cookie has had a very good start to the season and has been a very consistent performer. From our perspective, any speculation surrounding our players is very much viewed as a compliment. It should give him a big confidence boost. He can develop, and is developing, into a top player. You always welcome speculation as long as it doesn’t distract the player from doing what brought him the attention in the first place and that is working hard in training every day and trying to be the best player you can. He has certainly shown real maturity in recent weeks and is developing his leadership skills. We still feel there is more development to come but we are very happy with him".

Cook is currently contracted to the Cherries until 2016 came to Dean Court in a deal said to have been worth £170k in January 2012.
