Steve Sly On Winning Cherries Bid

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Sly is quoted as saying: "On behalf of the consortium, we are delighted to have been accepted as the successful bidder for AFC Bournemouth. We very much look forward to holding a press conference next week when we will unveil our vision and business strategy to take the club forward. Marc has got a lot to bring to the table and is very well connected. Together with a significant investment, he has a wealth of experience both in business and footballing terms. We will also be bringing on board some corporate and football strategic partners to help put our vision and business plan into place. I believe we now have the right team in place to firstly stabilise the club and to then bring it success. There is no such thing as a quick fix in football and it is certainly going to need a lot of hard work but we've got the structure in place. We have lots of irons in the fire and there is a lot to look forward to. With some facilities back in the club's hands and without a noose around our neck, we believe we can take the club forward. We've worked hard for this and I am genuinely excited that our bid has been successful. But I also know that until we start proving ourselves, we're not going to turn the corner".
