Manager Sean O'Driscoll is quoted as saying on the Clubs Official Web Site as saying: "Obviously we would liked to have kept Drew for longer, but his form has been excellent and Southampton will have noticed that. We hope Drew goes on to fit into what is happening down at St Mary's, but that said we would also like to see him back here at some stage. Drew has been first class in his time with us, he's fitted in really well with the rest of the squad, and his attitude and application both on and off the pitch has made him a pleasure to work with".
His last appearance for Bournemouth will be on New Year's Eve against Southend United at Roots Hall.
