Sean O'Driscoll, speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, was quoted after the match as saying: "They are an excellent side. I said before that they were the best side I've seen this season and I thought they proved it tonight. We do what we do and it's difficult to open up against them because they created enough chances tonight. We were trying to be as solid as we can so if we had thrown caution to the wind they are capable. You can see why they beat Bristol City seven and I watched them play MK Dons and it could have been another seven. They had a few chances tonight and I thought we defended really well. If they can keep it going, they will be difficult to knock off the top".

The Swansea City boss, Kenny Jackett was delighted with the result, being quoted on BBCi as saying: "I'm delighted with the victory ..... Bournemouth pushed us all the way and it was a cracking game. While it's 1-0 you're always worried, we had chances to put the game away, and we bit our nails until the end. The clean sheet was also pleasing - my goalkeeper (Willy Gueret) made one outstanding save from their centre forward's header".
