For AFC Bournemouth, manager Sean O'Driscoll is quoted as saying this after the hard fought win against Swindon Town on BBCi: "Swindon came here on the back of some bad results and performances, and came to shut up shop .... they left Sam Parkin up front on his own and gave us problems - in the first half we didn't really know what to do. But in the second half, we passed the ball well, didn't panic when they got back into it (at 1-1) and worked a set play, so we showed our intelligence".

For Swindon Town, manager Andy King was quoted in the national press as saying: "Christmas is always a telling time and we have three games in a week so we have to be targeting nine points to get us to turn our season round" after "school boy errors" gave Bournemouth the points!
