Sean O'Driscoll was quoted on BBC Radio Solent after the match as saying: "The last 2 home games we've been disappointed with results but really pleased with our performances but this was the total opposite. We are delighted, escatic with the result but extremely disappointed with the performance. We didn't pass the ball. The fact that they went down to ten men probably made it even more difficult which was a strange thing. We can certainly do better than what we showed today. I've just seen it [Gowling's "foul"] on video and it is a nothing decision, it is one of those where you think the referee has just evened things up. I thought our penalty was harsh to be honest but the one given against us was even harsher. We will have a word with the referee in a minute and we think we will definitely have to appeal against it because it was not even a foul, he [Thorpe] just fell over. I'm baffled. They [the team] are disappointed. They know they haven't played and it has been a struggle, they have had to dig deep. I said at the start of the season that this is going to be a long road and it doesn't help when key players go missing. You bring other people in, they are on a steep learning curve and we got back to being a young inexperienced side. I suppose that we are going to get more of these days than not. It is frustrating to me because we have reached a level and I suppose they surprise me at times with the level of performance from what we have got but equally they disappoint me when they don't hit it".
James O'Connor was quoted afterwards on BBCi as saying: "We're a bit disappointed with the way we played, but it was good to get a win and bounce back after losing at Chesterfield. Swindon's goal was a bit of a sucker punch - it was a bit sloppy from us, and from there on it was a struggle".
For Swindon Town, their manager Andy King was quoted as saying on BBCi: "Jerel Ifil was tremendous, but the one time in the game that James Hayter got across him, he scored and we went 2-1 down. But if Thorpe had scored the penalty, I think we would have gone on to win, as we still scared them after that".
Swindon defender Steve Jenkins was quoted on BBCi as saying on the defeat: "The defeats have all been by the odd goal, and we could have easily nicked something in the three away games. We've played all right in the last four games and there's a good spirit, we're positive, but we're just not getting the rub of the green. The performances have been good, but we just haven't had the luck".
