Symes On The Road To Recovery

Following a shoulder injury, Michael Symes is hoping to back in first team action in the near future.

Manager Eddie Howe is hoping that the front man will be back quite soon, but strikes a note of caution, being quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "He can still run and train non-contact, but it’s a case of making sure the shoulder is strong enough to take any impact. After the Exeter game it was a little bit sore, he played the next two games but wasn’t 100 per cent. Full credit to him for putting himself out there because he’s desperate to play. But he keeps getting little knocks on it, as you would expect. As a centre-forward he needs his arms to hold off people and uses them all the time. Although you wouldn’t think it, it’s such an important part of the centre-forward’s game. He needs to be able to hold off people and the arm needs to be strong and pain free".
