The Future Starts On Saturday

After the final whistle on Saturday up at Port Vale, the rebuilding programme on the first team will start as plans and budgets will be discussed for next season.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Kevin Bond is quoted as saying: "I don't want to be here thinking the best that we can hope for is to avoid relegation every season. I want to be progressive, but I'm also realistic and I think I will have a very tight budget to work with. So it will be a case of concentrating on first-team players - maybe not so much on fringe youngsters - and leaning on the loan market to cover injuries. I just hope that I can bring in some decent players who can help us and I'm confident I can find some. There is a chance for us over the summer to put some things in place which will give the club a good platform from which to progress. Money dictates so much on what you can do with players, but in terms of a budget, I would think it will be less rather than more".
