The South End Returns

The Club have taken the sensible decision to re-install a temporary stand at the open end of the ground to take advantage of the higher crowds expected at Dean Court over the coming season, especially with the likes of Southampton, Charlton Atheltic and Sheffield Wednesday all heading to Dorset.

Chairman, Eddie Mitchell is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying in the new 1160 capacity stand: "It is going to be uncovered so, depending on the weather, we will try to push the away supporters down there when it is forecast to be gloomy. We won’t be putting our fans there when it is raining but, if it is fine, we would like them behind both goals. I am sure other clubs won’t want to help us in any way so that is our plan. If it is tipping with rain or snowing, the away fans will be there. I am sure we will have a full house for the Southampton game and one or two others. We are putting up the stand because we hope to see more home and away supporters. We have also pre-booked it for the following season and have calculated that the club should cash in rather than it being a cost to us".
