Third Time Lucky For Eddie

He missed out in 1999 after we drew 0-0 with Wrexham on the final day of the season. He missed out again in 2000/01 when Jermaine Defoe was breaking records, eventually missing out after a pulsating 3-3 draw away to Reading at the Madejski Stadium!

But this year, according to an article in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, he is quoted as saying: "We've got a good all-round team and a very strong squad. If you take out two or three players, we can still get results and that's the sign of a strong squad. There's more experience in the squad and everyone is getting older together. We've still got young players, but I don't think you would call us a young team any more. I think we are coming into the right age to achieve something so hopefully our previous experience will stand us in good stead and we won't make the same mistakes as we made before".
