Time To Improve Away Form

With three away matches coming up in 8 days, against Chesterfield (Feb 20), Dagenham & Redbridge (Feb 24) and Gillingham (Feb 28), manager Eddie Howe is challenging the first team to collect more points on their travels.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, manager Eddie Howe, is quoted as saying: "They are three tough games and, if we continue our current away record, we won't get many points from them so we need to turn that around. There is no complacency in the camp and we know there is a long way to go. It can only be a positive that we have closed the gap but we need to pick up points from those away games. It looked like it was going to be a frustrating afternoon, especially when they got the penalty. Thankfully, we had a bit of luck that we desperately needed. I thought the boys showed great attitude. They kept going and kept plugging away, even though it didn't look like it was going to come, and got their just rewards. We weren't going to settle for a 0-0 draw. We needed three points, especially at home, and were going all out for the win. We were thinking of making another attacking substitution just as we scored. It was never going to be easy but we did have our chances. If we had scored earlier then maybe it would have been a lot more comfortable".
