Tindall On Management Changes

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Tindall is quoted as saying: "I've got a lot of respect for Jimmy. He took me to Cambridge as his assistant and then brought me here. He is an experienced manager who has got his own ideas and methods on the training ground. He played a lot longer than I did and we are from a different era. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned or as he would have wanted and we both have to take our share of the blame for that. I was both surprised and disappointed when he left and knew there would be question marks over my own future. You can't take anything for granted in football and things happen very quickly. Not long after Jimmy phoned to tell me what had happened, I got a call from Savi telling me that Eddie would be taking over on a temporary basis. I knew he would be the right man for the job. Eddie wanted to keep me and so did Savi. Results and performances don't lie and there has been a big change in both since Eddie came in. The players have responded to him and have worked extremely hard. They know and understand what he wants and where he wants to go. Everybody has bought in to it and our results are there for everybody to see. Eddie and myself are the same age and both finished playing around the same time. If you are working with someone older, you are going to have different views. We have adopted a player's mentality to management. We have asked ourselves how we would want to learn and improve as players and tried to implement that".
