Torquay United Reaction - Gulls I

Torquay United manager, Paul Buckle was quoted on BBC Radio Devon after the match as saying: "We played very well and carried on where we left off performance wise, the only thing that was missing was something for our troubles. But we were out done by a wonder goal and a penalty that I think the referee got horribly wrong. Both sets of crowds and players were great though. There were some decisions I was unhappy with. The referee has to be 100% sure to give a penalty, and if he's not 100% sure you can't give it. Unfortunately he was influenced by a big crowd behind the goal and we came away with nothing. But that's enough of that, we were great today".

Buckle was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "It was never a penalty but I don’t blame the player at all. I tried to shake Pitman’s hand and wasn’t being sarcastic, although he took it that way and reminded us he had scored a couple of goals against us this season".
