Torquay United defender Lee Mansell, who was adjudged to have committed the foul that led to the disputed penalty deep in to injury time at the end of the game was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I felt hard done by. The ball went up in the air, I got across Pitman and it came off my shoulder. People will probably say it was good play by him to go down and, if it had been us, I wouldn’t have complained but it is hard to swallow when it happens to you", and went on to describe the penalty decision as "shocking, shocking and shocking".
