With the Cherries reporting back for pre-season, manager Eddie Howe is planning a tough pre-season training programme to get the first team ready for life back in League One with a tie up with Solent University in Southampton.

The Cherries manager is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "They have got up-to-date equipment here so everything is state of the art and we are very lucky to have a tie up with Solent University. Pre-season can be a long period and, usually, it is spent just getting fit but we try to incorporate as many different things as we can. You still have to do the running, there is no getting away from that. We get the balls out as quickly as we can, that’s when you get the true value of pre-season. The lads have had a good break and have all come back raring to go. Pre-season is hard work and you can’t get away from that. We’ve got a lot of games and we need to make sure we’re ready for the first game of the season".
