Tranmere Rovers Reaction - Rovers

Rovers manager, Ronnie Moore was quick to praise the Cherries after the 0-0 draw at Prenton Park, being quoted Bournemouth Evening Echo after the match as saying: "They have had a fantastic season and can be very proud of everything they have done. They were fourth from bottom when Eddie came in and have finished second. I know there were a few long faces in their dressing room after Doncaster had scored with the last kick of their game at Brentford, but they should have been drinking champagne. It shows how professional they are that they really wanted to win the title. It is frustrating for them and it would have been the icing on the cake, but they have been promoted. Ee came second when we won back-to-back promotions at Rotherham and could have won the league on both occasions. Sometimes, second is good enough. In my opinion, they have been the best team in this division this season and have been better than Doncaster. They say the table doesn’t lie but, sometimes, it does. Bournemouth won’t get any medals but they will be in the same division as Doncaster next season. On another day, they would have beaten us and would have been deserved champions. They had a lot of possession, without testing our young goalkeeper. That is life and you have to get on with it".
