Southampton based, but Swindon Town player, Brian Howard is believed to be in talks over a move to join AFC Bournemouth as it seems that a contract renewal at The County Ground is not on the cards.

Howard joined Swindon Town from Southampton in 2003 and has made 49 league appearances, scoring 9 league goals, plus 11 in Cup competitions, adding a goal to the tally.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Howard is quoted as saying: "Sean spoke to me and said with Wade and Garreth gone, they are looking to fill those gaps with players of that quality or better if they can. He's known about me for a while and I spoke to a few of their players during the season. I said I quite fancy Bournemouth if I can get down there because they are a good footballing side and living down south would be perfect for me. Sean asked me if I would be interested if they could do something. He wanted to know my situation and I said I'm 95 per cent certain to be leaving Swindon. They can't offer anything decent and want every player to take a pay cut".

Meanwhile, Derby County are said to be in the hunt for Jamie Hayter!!
