AFC Bournemouth have announced that Matt Tubbs has left the Club, having had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Speaking about Tubbs in tghe Bournemouth Echo, manager Eddie Howe was quoted as saying: "I’ve always maintained Matt Tubbs is a very good footballer and a scorer of goals. I’ve never doubted his ability to score goals provided you play to his strengths. It was always difficult for Matt bearing in mind the system that we play, the competition for places that we have and the step up in level to the Championship. This club has moved forward at such a rate and, unfortunately, there are always casualties. But what I will say about Matt Tubbs is that he’s a great man, an incredible professional and very dedicated. I haven’t had one cross word with him. I respect him immensely and he’s a fantastic goalscorer. He goes with our best wishes and we hope he continues his excellent career so far".
