Tubbs On The Move?

It is being reported that Matt Tubbs could be on his way out of Dean Court as manager Eddie Howe looks to stream line, and strengthen, his squad ahead of the Cherries' first season in the second tier of English football since 1989/90.

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that no bids have been received for the front man, despite links to Rotherham United, and Crawley Town.

Tubbs has been quoted in the local Crawley paper as saying: "Your guess is as good as mine where I'll be next season. It isn't really up to me, it's up to Bournemouth and my agent".

On the apparent interest from Rotherham United and known admirer, Steve Evans, Tubbs is also quoted as saying: "I think Steve has shown some interest. I don't know who has shown interest or not because sometimes my agent doesn't tell me if it isn't concrete. I'm 28, nearly 29, and so if I was going to move somewhere that far away, I would have to talk to my family. Crawley is obviously a lot closer, but I don't know what is going to happen at the moment".

On the speculation, Jason Tindall was quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I'm not surprised clubs have been linked with him because his goalscoring record is exceptional and clubs are always looking for strikers who score goals consistently, like he has done throughout his career. From our point of view, Tubbsy made a really important contribution to our success last season. For any player that spends the majority of the season on the bench or not playing on a consistent basis week to week, it can be frustrating and difficult. But Tubbsy showed an absolutely terrific attitude to his training, his work and to the encouragement that he gave to other players. We value him really highly and he was a little bit unfortunate last season due to the good form of Brett and Grabbs. He showed a fantastic attitude, he kept himself fit and when he was called upon, he never let the team down".
