Sadly, the inevitable arrived for Luton Town as they had their relegation to the Conference confirmed following a 0-0 draw against Chesterfield at Kenilworth Road. No only the first Wembley winners to drop from the Football League, but also the first Club to be relegated having been able to achieve midtable form through out the season. The 30-point pre-season deduction proved too much as their 89-year run in the League comes to an end for the time being. Luton Town (24th), Chesterfield 7th.

Which club is to follow Luton Town? That matter was made even tighter as AFC Bournemouth slipped to a 4th defeat in 5 matches as Powell scored the only goal of the game for table-toppers Brentford at Dean Court. Powell was sent off for punching his own player early in the second half. The results leaves the Cherries hovering above the drop zone, while Brentford are 4 points away from confirming their automatic promotion. AFC Bournemouth 21st, Brentford 1st.

Grimsby Town helped themselves to a massive 3-points against Notts County at Meadow Lane. Atkinson gave the Mariners a 52nd minute lead, with Boshell making sure of the points in the 79th minute. Grimsby Town are now level on points with the Cherries. Notts County 18th, Grimsby Town 22nd.

Chester City managed to secure just their 8th win of the season with a 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley at Livingstone Road. Lowe scored the only goal of the game, from the penalty spot, in the 41st minute. The win leaves Chester City a point away from safety. Accrington Stanley 16th, Chester City 23rd.

Exeter City took a big step towards League One football with a single goal win over rivals Wycombe Wanderers at St James's Park. Gill scored the only goal in the 64th minute to secure the win. Exeter City 2nd, Wycombe Wanderers 3rd.

Bury lead the chase behind the automatic promotion places following a 2-2 draw against Darlington at The Arena. Hurst gave the visitors an 8th minute lead, with Kennedy levelling in the 38th minute. Sodje restored Bury's advantage in the 53rd minute with Abbott levelling matters in the 74th minute. Darlington 13th, Bury 4th.

Rochdale further dented the play-off ambitions of Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow as they came from behind to deny the Shrews all 3-points. Holt had given the home side a 47th minute lead, but saw Dagnall level in the 73rd minute. Shrewsbury Town 8th, Rochdale 5th.

Gillingham are still with a shout of automatic promotion following a 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge at Priestfield. McCammon gave the Gills an 8th minute lead, with Saunders levelling in the 41st minute. Three points were confirmed when Oli scored the winner with 2 minutes left on the clock. Gillingham 6th, Dagenham & Redbridge 10th.

Bradford City have it all to do it they are to make the end of season play-offs following a 1-1 draw against Lincoln City at Valley Parade. Hutchinson gave the Imps a 47th minute lead, with Bollock levelling in the 65th minute. Bradford City 9th, Lincoln City 12th.

Morecambe have a shout of the play-offs following their 1-0 win over Macclesfield at Moss Rose. Artell gave the Cumbrian side the win, scoring in the 85th minute. Macclesfield 20th, Morecambe 11th.

Aldershot Town had to come from behind to rescue a point against in form Barnet at The Recreation Ground. Leary gave the visitors a 4th minute lead, only to see Chalmers level in the 51st minute. Aldershot Town 15th, Barnet 17th.

Finally, Port Vale (19th) and Rotherham United (14th) could only manage a 0-0 draw at Vale Park.
