Rochdale surprisingly were held by Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road to a share of the points. Dawson have Dale a 53rd minute lead only to see Westwood level in the 71st minute. Higginbotham restored Dales lead with Tootle levelling for the Alex in the 77th minute. Crewe Alexandra 12th, Rochdale 1st.

Cheltenham Town are left hovering above the drop zone following a rare win for AFC Bournemouth at Whaddon Road. Feeney netted the only goal of the game for the Cherries in the 57th minute to maintain their push for promotion. Cheltenham Town 22nd, AFC Bournemouth 2nd.

Dagenham & Redbridge failed to take advantage of postponements, slipping to defeat against Northampton Town at Sixfields. McKay scored the winner for the Cobblers in the 88th minute. Northampton Town 18tn, Dagenham & Redbridge 4th.

Aldershot Town recorded the biggest win of the day in League Two with a thumping 4-0 win over Barnet at The Recreation Ground. Grant netted a brace for the Shots in the 36th and 59th minutes. Sandell added to the rout in the 65th minute with Donnelly rubbing the salt in to the wounds with a 77th minute penalty. Aldershot Town 5th, Barnet 15th.

Chesterfield missed the chance to get closer to the automatic promotion places as their slipped up against Lincoln City at Sincil Bank. Hughton gave the Imps a 25th minute lead, which was added to by Facey 4 minutes later. Boden scored a consolation for the Spirites in the 83rd minute. Lincoln City 21st, Chesterfield 6th.

Morecambe's long unbeaten run came to an abrupt end at Christie Park against Accrington Stanley. An Edwards brace in the 58th and 62nd minutes, the latter coming from the penalty spot, put the game almost beyond doubt until Hunter netted in the 68th minute for the home side, but it wasn't enough. Morecambe 8th, Accrington Stanley 9th.

Shrewsbury Town left it very late to salvage a point against Macclesfield at the New Meadow. All 4 goals in this 2-2 draw were scored in injury time at the end of each half. Brown (45 +1) and Daniel (45 +4) netted for the Silkmen either side of Fairhurst's goal (42 +2). The points were shared as Hibbert levelled for the home side in the 96th minute. Shrewsbury Town 10th, Macclesfield 20th.

The only other match played in League Two on Boxing Day saw Torquay United win by a Wroe penalty in the 19th minute against Hereford United at Plainmoor. Torquay United 17th, Hereford United 19th.

The matches involving Rotherham United (3rd), Darlington (24th); Notts County (7th), Grimsby Town (23rd); Bury (11th), Bradford City (14th) and Port Vale (16th) and Burton Albion (13th) were called off due to the weather.
