Rochdale continued scoring goals for fun as they ripped Morecambe apart at Spotland, with a 4-1 win over the Cumbrian side. O'Grady netted in the 12th minute with Dagnall adding to the scoreline 10 minutes later. Atkinson netted a brace in the 72nd and 86th minutes. A Curtis strike in the 84th minute for the Shrimpers proved to be nothing more than a consolation. Rochdale 1st, Morecambe 10th.

A tighter affair at Dean Court saw AFC Bournemouth edge Torquay United in a 2-1 win. Rendell gave the Gulls a 63rd minute lead, with saw a stunning response from Feeney in the 84th minute leaving Pitman to score a hotly disputed penalty in the 95th minute. The game did see Torquay win the yellow card count 7-5! AFC Bournemouth 2nd, Torquay United 19th.

The wins for Dale and the Cherries see them open up a 12 and 7 point gap on the clubs placd third and below.

Notts County saw off local rivals, Burton Albion at The Pirelli Stadium with a comprehensive 4-1 win. Ravenhill gave County a 13th minute lead, which lead to Kabba levelling in the 38th minute. Hughes netted a hat trick to secure the win with strikes just before the break and then in the 48th (pen) and 53rd minutes. Burton Albion 14th, Notts County 4th.

Have the wheels come off the Dagenham & Redbridge band waggon as they slipped to Cheltenham Town at Victoria Road. Richards have the Robins the lead on the stroke of half time with Low securing the win in the 66th minute. Dagenham & Redbridge 5th, Cheltenham Town 21st.

Shrewsbury Town continued their inconsistent form with a 3-1 win over Bradford City at Valley Parade. Dunfield have the Shrews an 11th minute lead. Hanson levelled for the Bantams in the 20th minute, with McIntyre restoring the advantage just before the half time break from the penalty spot. Hibbert put the result beyond doubt in the 79th minute. Bradford City 15th, Shrewsbury Town 8th.

Bury are nicely tucked just behind the play-off places, with games in hand, as they edged towards top-6 with a hard fought win over local rivals Accrington Stanley at Livingstone Road. Symes had given the home side a 14th minute lead, which stood until Jones levelled in the 53rd minute and then Morrell gave the visitors the lead 2 minutes later. McConville levelled things up in the 69th minute, before Morrell completed a brace in the 75th minute. Lowe made sure of the points in the 93rd minute. Accrington Stanley 11th, Bury 9th.

Macclesfield put a bit of daylight between themselves and the relegation places with a 4-1 win over local rivals Crewe Alexandra at Moss Rose. The Silkmen blitzed their visitors with goals from Wright (4th min), Bolland (13th min) and Daniel (30th min) to just about seal the points. Zola pulled one back in the 64th minute before Sappleton restored the 3-goal advantage in the 92nd minute. Macclesfield 17th, Crewe Alexandra 12th.

Port Vale compounded the woes of Grimsby Town at Blundell Park as Vale ran out 2-1 winners. Rigg (7th min) and Taylor (41st min) did the damage in the first half, leaving Conlon with a 90th minute penalty as consolation. Grimsby Town 23rd, Port Vale 13th.

The only other game played in League Two on this Bank Holiday Monday saw Barnet (16th) draw 0-0 with Northampton Town (18th) at Sixfields.

The games involving Chesterfield (7th)/Rotherham United (3rd), Hereford United (20th)/Aldershot Town (6th) and Darlington (24th)/Lincoln City (22nd) were all postponed due to the weather.
