On Monday evening, in front of the Sky Sports cameras, the big top-of-the-table clash at Gigg Lane saw Bury take on near neighbours Rochdale. Lowe scored the only goal of the game to seal the points as late as the 78th minute. Bury 3rd, Rochdale 1st.

AFC Bournemouth managed to see off Rotherham United at The Don Valley Stadium to secure their 8th win on the road this season. Pope had given the Millers a 26th minute lead, only to see Pitman level in the 47th minute and Hollands net a brace in the 59th and 68th minutes to secure a vital away win. Rotherham United 4th, AFC Bournemouth 2nd.

Crewe Alexandra had to come from behind to secure a share of the spoils against Torquay United at Gresty Road. Zebroski gave the Devon side the lead in the 7th minute with Miller netting an equaliser in the 91st minute. Crewe Alexandra 15th, Torquay United 21st.

Hereford United eased their relegation worries, with a 2-0 win at Edgar Street, leap frogging Lincoln City at the same time. McCallum netted a brace of goals in the 29th and 55th minutes to secure the win. Hereford United 18th, Lincoln City 20th.

The other game in League Two saw Accrington Stanleys (10th) match against Barnet (19th) called off due to the weather.

Meanwhile in the FA Cup, Notts County recorded a superb victory over Premiership Wigan Athletic. Hunt gave County the lead in the 75th minute which was added to by the unfortunate Caldwell who past his own keeper in the 78th minute, this in front of a miserly 5519 fans.
