Use Vokes As Role Model

With one the 6 potential new comers being Sam's younger brother Matt, all have been asked to step up to the challenge and follow the example set by the Wolves striker.

The intake of 6 are Matt Vokes, Dan Strugnell, Tom Strong, Alex Parsons, Paddy Hester and Harry Bell.

Exiles Club President, Joe Roach, is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying of the new intake: "It's the first step on a very long ladder, both in footballing terms and academically. They will need to keep themselves focused for two years and can use what Sam Vokes has achieved so far in his career as a spur and incentive. When Sam came in as a 16-year-old, you wondered how he would develop as a player. He earned his chance and the rest, as they say, is history. These six lads have got to look upon this as an opportunity. They have all got a lot of hard work to do and it is a long road. But they are educationally bright as a group which can only help because they will need to take on a lot of information. The selection process this year was the most thorough since I have been here and we have got high hopes for them. We went to their schools for character and educational references. There is a lot of educational-based work in the programme and that can sometimes be a struggle if they are not prepared for it".
