It has been announced that teenage striker Sam Vokes has been sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers by the Joint Administrator Gerald Krasner for an undisclosed fee.

On the move, manager Kevin Bond is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "I knew it would happen and that it was only a matter of time but it doesn't make it any less disappointing".

Mick McCarthy, Wolves boss, is quoted as saying: "Sam is a great young talent who our scouts have been watching for some time".

As for the man himself, Vokes is quoted as saying about his move: "It was a very hard decision because I love it at Bournemouth. I still get on with everyone and I'd like to thank everyone to do with the club, especially the manager, staff and players, who have helped me come on and they have given me my chance. Joe Roach has been a massive part of it for me through the early years and since I've broken through he's been supportive, as have Eddie Howe, Rob Newman and the gaffer. The gaffer wished me all the best but it's sad to be leaving the club. I'll still be around and I'll come and watch when I'm back. It's sad to leave but I think when a chance like this comes up you can't really say no".
