Wade Elliott Reaches The Premiership

He helped AFC Bournemouth to Play-Off success against Lincoln City in 2003, and now Wade Elliott has done the same for Burnley at Wembley.

The ex-Cherries star scored a sensational long distance goal after just 13 minutes of the game against Sheffield United. The midfield star picked the ball up deep inside his own half, made of his trademark runs towards the box, checked, fed the ball through to McCann (who was blocked by Kilgallon) only for the ball to break back to Elliott, who side footed the ball in to the top left hand corner from a full 25 yards out.

Burnley had other chances to wrap the game up, just as United had numerous penalty shouts. United ended the match with 10-men after substitute Ward was sent off 12 minutes after coming on, for 2 bookable offences.
