We Want To Turn This Place Into A Fortress - Barrett

With just a handful of matches played of the new season, new skipper, Adam Barrett, has come out to declare that he wants Dean Court turned in to a fortress.

The central defender is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echoas saying: "We want to turn this place into a fortress. We had two good home wins on the bounce – Dagenham and Sheffield Wednesday. And at 1-1, I fancied us to win against Stevenage but, unfortunately, the sending off changed the game. We want to make this a hard place to come and there is no reason why we can’t make it difficult for teams to come and play here. If we get a good result tomorrow then people won’t fancy coming here".

Barrett is also quoted as saying that the current first team need to get "nastier" if they are return to form: "Bradders lost a lot of players and the team has completely changed. There is not a lot of experience in the team at this level, so it can take time. But I think we have showed in patches, especially against Sheffield Wednesday, what we can do. We have just got to take that little bit of fighting spirit and be a little bit nastier. I think at the moment we are a little bit of a soft touch and we now need to be nastier. The lads are a great bunch and they work their socks off. We have just got to tweak it here and there but it takes time. We are four league games in and it is nothing. It is no time to panic or worry. We have a good set of players, we had a good pre-season, we need to tweak a few little things and we will be fine. We need a couple of positive results to get the confidence up and to get the season going again".
