We're Gonna Keep On Scoring

Having had success at Accrington Stanley, and Hereford United respectively, Michael Symes and Marc Pugh have gone on record as saying they want to maintain their success in front of goal for the Cherries as they make the step up to League One.

Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Symes is quoted as saying: "As a centre-forward, you are always expected to score goals so it’s not an added pressure. It doesn’t matter where you go, people will expect you to score goals and, as long as you produce the goods, the supporters will get behind you. The competition is brilliant. You don’t want to be at a club where there are only two strikers because you can have four or five bad games and still be in the team. You need the competition to keep you on your toes".

Pugh is quoted as saying: "I enjoy the pressure. I went to Hereford last season and a lot was expected of me. It was my best goalscoring season so far and I’m just looking to improve on that. I set my own individual targets before the season starts and, hopefully, I can push on and get a lot more goals. I’m loving every minute of my time here. I played here for Hereford last season and the fans seemed great. I’m looking forward to playing in front of them and the club ticked all the boxes for me. I know I will have to earn my place and am not expecting to go straight into the team".
