With the Cherries 'rich' in striking options, new manager Eddie Howe admits that he needs to address the issue of Wes Thomas being out on loan at League One rival Portsmouth given Wes's stated position that he's not coming back to Dean Court simply to sit on the bench.
Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Howe is quoted as saying: "Wes is someone we have always admired from afar. We are quickly assessing the squad and are well stocked in the striker department. But, with someone with Wes’s qualities and attributes, we are going to have to think long and hard about what we do with him before his loan is up. We can’t do anything for the first 28 days but, once we are able to recall him, it is certainly something we would think about".
The situation at Fratton Park means that the Hampshire Club can only sign players on month-long contracts (loan or otherwise)
