For AFC Bournemouth, manager Sean O'Driscoll was quoted on BBCi as saying: "The team were disappointed with the defeat to Chesterfield and they showed that with the way they came out and played tonight. We bounced back, put in a performance, but we missed the chances we created. If you want to win games you've got to score goals, and we've not scored in two games, so we've got to work on it. To win games, you've got to score goals and we missed the chances we created. That's something we've got to work on. We didn't score a lot of goals in pre-season and we've played two league games now and haven't scored. It's something we need to get on the training pitch and work at".

The Yeovil manager, Russell Slade, was quoted in the Western Daily Press as saying: "I'm an honest manager and Bournemouth were first to the ball. They created some very good openings but we managed to hang in there and showed a certain amount of resilience, which is important when you are having a bad day. Overall I have to be pleased with getting a 0-0 draw, because on another day Bournemouth could quite easily have beaten us comfortably".
