Speaking after the game on BBC Radio Solent, here is what Kevin Bond had to say: "I don't think we did a lot wrong to be honest, well we did, we let two goals in but we didn't take chances. We had four or five unbelievably glorious chances today and if we take them, the game is dead and buried. I am absolutely gutted with the result but from every other aspect, I have got to be honest with you, I thought the lads played well. You have just got to keep doing it in training, it is habit forming. Keep finding the back of the net in training when you get in them positions. David McGoldrick had an incredible chance in the first minute of the game, Bjarni an unbelievable chance after the first 15 minutes. James Hayter had two glorious chances, one came back off the goalkeeper that Brett Pittman just put wide. He had a shot that the goalkeeper clutched from a corner - far better chances than any of the ones that they scored from. I'm not taking anything away from them, I thought they defended stoutly and took their chances but overall I thought we were the better team. I think we played well, it doesn't get you anywhere, don't get me wrong. I don't look at us and think that we are a side in disarray. We've done everything well apart from put the ball in the back of the net".

On the occassion of his 400th appearance for AFC Bournemouth, Neil Young was quoted on BBC Radio Solent as saying: "I thought up until they scored we were the better side. We knocked the ball around well but when they scored we seemed to go to pieces a little bit. We came in at half time, went back out and I thought we started positively second half. We were unfortunate not to score and as the game went on and on the more chances we created and missed. Their goalkeeper pulled off a couple of class saves and it was frustrating at the end, especially as they had scored a second goal. It killed us. When we are missing chance after chance and I think they had two strikes on goal and scored. We go back to the training ground now and work on it. There are a lot of plusses we can take out of tonight's game and hopefully we can build on it for Saturday. After the last four games there are a lot of plusses but if we keep conceding goals and not scoring the chances we are creating then we are going to find it hard. If we had gone out there second half and put away one of our chances we created then the games changes. I'm sure our crowd would have got behind us and we would have pushed on for the second one".
