Young Red Card Appeal

Last updated : 07 September 2004 By Bournemouth Co-Ordinator
The appeal is being lodged on teh ground that "We do not believe Neil intended to injure Stephen Hunt - it was not a malicious act" (Sean O'Driscoll's words).

This came following an injury to Derek Holmes in which Bees player, Hunt, agreed to pass the ball back to Bournemouth, but didn't as Bournemouth players stood back from the drop ball incident.

Although referee Beeby confirmed that Hunt said he'd pass the ball back to Bournemouth, at the same time he couldn't affect the outcome.

If the appeal to the FA Disciplinary Dept fails, Neil Young will face a 4-match suspension. An automatic 3 match ban for the offence, and an additional match as he's already been sent off this season!!
