Anything buit a defeat would have taken the Cherries to the top of League Two against relegated Northampton Town, but it wasn't to be as AFC Bournemouth slipped to their first defeat of the season.
It didn#t start too well for the Cherries as Akinfenwa netted from close range in just the 6th minute.
Try as they might to get in to the game, the Cherries couldn't get in to their stride, and were punished in the 84th minute when Marshall sealed the points, again from close range.
The Cherries did create chances, but none were good enough to severly test the keeper.
Overall, it's a shame to loose the 100% start, but it is a good start to the season compared to what we've been used to in recent years.
Next up for the Cherries is a home encounter against Crewe Alexandra next Saturday.
