Even though the Cherries are 11 points adrift of safety, it is hard to see a way out of the relegation mess with just 9 matches left of the season.

The trip to Boundary Park in bad weather conditions was not made any easier when Marvin Bartley fouled Gary MacDonald inside the penalty area to concede a 24th minute penalty, which Neal Eardley neatly converted.

With the Cherries creating few chances, it was no surprise that Oldham Athletic doubled their lead with 11 minutes left to play. Josh Gowling fouled Chris Taylor to concede a 2nd penalty, which Eardley dispatched for his 2nd of the game.

Eardley could have completed his hat trick when a 30-yard pile drive hit the post.

The result leaves the Cherries 11 points adrift of the dotted line, with just 9 matches left to salvage any pride from the season.
