AFC Bournemouth were denied a deserved win at Dean Court this afternoon through a combination of abject referreeing, an inability to finish and stubborn defending!

The opening period of the match wasn't up to much as both sides stated the match tentatively, but it came to life just before the half hour mark when Wagstaff put the Addicks ahead with a close range effort.

Up until then the Cherries had hardly threatened the visitors goal, but promptly went down the other end to level when Marc Pugh was on hand to head home from close range in the 31st minute.

The second half saw the Cherries start in a far more positive fashion, laying seige to the Charlton goal. Reward came 12 minutes in to the second period when a shot from Danny Hollands was deflected past the Addicks keeper, rolling in to the back of the net. At this stage, a 2-1 lead was no more than the Cherries deserved.

More goals seemed likely as Steve Fletcher, March Pugh, Liam Feeney, Danny Hollands and then Danny Ings saw efforts cleared off the line, go just wide or hit the woodwork.

Charlton drew level with 9 minutes to go after Stockley was pushed to the ground (why no free kick?) which eventually saw the ball go to Wright-Phillips who levelled.

Even with 7 minutes of time added there were chances for the Cherries to claim their first win in four matches, but it wasn't to be. An exquisite ball found Ings free to be one-on-one with the keeper. Sadly his effort didn't match the defense splitting pass.

Another incident worthy of mention saw Ings flattened by the Addicks keeper and then it seemed he was kicked while on the ground. Penalty surely and a red card for the keeper ........ the ref was having none of it, much to the displeasure of the home support who let him know exactly how they felt!
