Nov 23 AFC Bournemouth 2-0 Yeovil Town Att: 6465

To say that the first half was lively was an understatement. Within the first three minutes Liam Feeney went close to opening the scoring when he fired in a low shot, which cannoned off the far post and to safety.

Bouyed up by recent successes in front of goal, Josh McQuoid produced a good effort, which went wide, following good approach play by Harry Arter.

John Stewart proved himself in the 18th minute when made himself a big target ti get past, blocking a shot from Williams, after the Yeovil man found himself clear and with just the keeper to beat.

Moments later Danny Hollands fired home a fierce from inside the penalty area in the 19th minute. Hesistant defending to blame for the opportunity - but who was complaining! Certainly not the Cherries.

Yeovil should have levelled a couple of minutes later when Bowditch found himself clear, only to miss the target, having tried to lob the keeper.

One of the best goals we've seen this season came in the 36th minute when Josh McQuoid picked up the ball, rode a couple of challenges and then curled the ball beautifully past the keeper, beating him at the far post. McQuoid could have doubled his tally, only to see the ball go narrowly wide.

Only acrobatics from Sullivan in the visitors goal prevented Steve Fletcher from scoring a Millennium Stadium-esque goal.

HT: 2-0

The second period started in lively fashion again only for Sullivan to deny McQuoid again.

Apart from a Bignall effort late on, saved by the legs of Sullivan, the rest of the half was largely forgettable, when a cricket score seemed likely in the first half.

At the end of the match, the players were clearly delighted with the win, congratulating John Stewart for keeping a clean sheet after Saturday's disappointment.

Stewart - Did very well in goal for his home league debut.
Smith - Ran his socks off as usual.
Bartley - I know he's not a natural central defender, but did well, despite obvious weaknesses at the back.
Pearce - Talismanic as ever.
Wiggins - Superb as ever down the left.
Arter - Ran his socks off throughout again. Great industry.
Robinson - Quietly got on with his job in the centre of midfield.
Hollands - Played a great game of football, scoring a well struck goal.
Feeney - Caused problems down the left hand side standing in for Marc Pugh.
Fletcher - Had a great first half. Less of an impact in the second period
McQuoid - What can be said about Josh that's not been said previously. Scored a great goal to seal the win, and had several other opportunities to extend the advantage.

Man Of The MatchMy man of the match goes to Danny Hollands for superb industry in midfield.
