Nov 25 AFC Bournemouth 0-0 Morcambe Att: 3068

If AFC Bournemouth had the better of the opening 45 minutes, then it was marginal as neither side created anything of any real note for the the most part.

Jalal was only called in to action once to make an instinctive save which would have stung his fingers in the cold night air.

The Morcambe keeper wasn't called in to making a single meaningful save whatsoever. He was only beaten once when Symes saw a goal bound effort rebound off the inside of the left hand upright and cleared to safety.

The second half, again, saw Jalal called in to action once. Again a shot stung his fingers. As for the home side ....... we're still waiting for a meaningful effort.

Okay, we've clawed our way back to just -1 points, this after 17 League matches, which means that we're averaging less than a point a game. If we really want to stay in the Football League, we need to average over 1.5 points a game for the rest of the season.

Overall we lacked invention and guile to unlock a poor Morcambe side. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Man Of The Match
Shaun Cooper
for marshalling the defence well.

Jalal - didn't have much to do, but did well when called upon.
Ward - too many mistakes and poor distribution.
Cooper - steady at the back.
Pearce - quiet game.
Cummings - the biggest cheer from the home fans came when he got substituted.
Igoe - not as lively as we've known him to be.
Anderton - poor by his own standards.
Hollands - plenty of running, but lacking this evening.
Bradbury - given little service.
McQuoid - could have done better with the chances he was presented with.
Symes - had our one meaningful shot on target. Unlucky to hit the upright and see the shot come out and cleared.
Bartley - not the player he was when he came on.
Tubbs - did okay when he came on - more to come I hope from him for a proper assessment.
Garry - nice to see him back.
