Sept 26 AFC Bournemouth 0-1 Bristol City Att: 6484

Disappointment at Dean Court as City take the points back to Bristol this evening!

Bournemouth were the more dominant in the opening stages which saw an un marked Hayter header go straight to their keeper, and a Purches cross/shot hit the cross bar! That was within the opening 5 minutes.

The rest of the half was pretty even, with neither side carving any decent openings between them to test the keepers.

The second was much the same, but City had more possession. Their increased possession almost paid dividends when City rattled an upright in the 52nd minute. Bournemouth were making life difficult for themselves. An apparent inability to clear to safety, or pass our way out of trouble meant that City were able to maintain the pressure on the final third of the pitch.

Then in the 70th minute, Jevons had a simple header to put our visitors ahead, and claim 3 points. Deserved on the balance of play!

The introduction of Best and Ainsworth was never going to produce an equaliser let alone a winner given the light weight nature of the midfield.
